The eagerly awaited 5th release from the 'Cask Exploration' series, and the first to use barley grown 100% on Islay.

Distilled in 2012 and aged for 9 years, this vintage followed 3 seperate paths in its maturation journey.  A combination of sherry butts and first and second fill American whiskey barrels were recasked at different points of maturation into some of the finest Sauternes wine casks from the left bank of the Garonne River in Bordeaux.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY / BOTTLER

Bruichladdich Distillery is a distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery produces mainly single malt Scotch whisky, but has also offered artisanal gin. It is owned by Rémy Cointreau after being owned by Mark Reyneir.

One interpretation of the Gaelic word Bruichladdich is "stony shore bank", referring to a post-glacial raised beach, though an alternative, perhaps more pertinent translation may be "rocky lee shore".

Pronunciation : "brook-laddie"
